2011 Spring
Indoor Information Sheet
Welcome
to the 2011 Indoor Soccer Season for Centennial Soccer Club.
You
must return a W-9 (only if we don’t have one for you or if you have a new
address), proof of age no matter how old you are (just one needed unless
you change your name), and Waiver Form (one per year) to us before we can
assign you games. Referees over 18 years
old will also need to complete a MYSA background check before you can be
assigned. Directions are at www.merryhilger.com/MYSA.htm. You need to fill out your availability on Got
Officials, www.gotofficials.com/default.aspx. Please make sure you consider your indoor
games and any training dates when filling these out. Game days are Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. Easter makeup days are April 25
and 26. Do not fill out your
availability until we post a notice on www.merryhilger.com. When we upload games to the Got Officials
website, it sets everyone’s calendar to unavailable for game days. If you do your calendar before we upload
games, you will have to do it again after the games are uploaded.
You
must attend a clinic and pass the test if you have worked less than 3 years in
the Centennial Indoor program. If you
have worked 3 or more years at the Centennial Indoor program you only need to
take the test. You can take the test
anytime during the indoor training sessions.
Remember that you need to be registered for outdoor to work indoor, or
at least be signed up for a class. Dates for the indoor classes will be posted
at www.merryhilger.com/Indoor.htm.
Let Merry know which class you will be at, or which class you want to take the
test at, so that we have enough materials.
Remember
that if you are a certified as grade 9 for USSF you will only be assigned to
the U10 games for indoor.
All officials that work a game must sign the report. If you don’t sign it, we will assume you didn’t show up and the appropriate action will be taken. Look for these in the scorer’s box. If we don’t get a game report, don’t expect to get paid for the game.
We
will also use the game reports to verify that all the officials showed up for
the game. If you don’t show up and we
didn’t get a phone call, we will call you to find out why. The second time you don’t show up for a game,
we will pull the remainder of your schedule.
If you do not drive and are unable to get a ride to a game you are
scheduled for, you MUST call one of our cell phones so we can try to get a
replacement. This is a job and these players are counting on you to show up for
the games. You will be able to contact us
any time, if the need arises.
If you give out a red card during a game, fill out the name and reason of the person receiving the red card on the game report for both. Please call Merry as soon as you get home so that she can take the appropriate action.
Gold is the official color
this year. If you have a gold team you
must wear your black or alternate color.
Please remember that both officials have to wear the same uniform. Pants are not allowed when working indoor
games.
We
do not want any official working a competitive game that a son/daughter or
sibling is playing in, U11-U16. The
exception here is Little Kickers (U5-U8) and U9/10 since they are
non-competitive. We will try to schedule
so this doesn’t happen, but if it does, please notify us as soon as you
can.
When
you are on the field, you are a team.
Work as a team. Talk about what
happened in the game during half time.
Senior officials should help out the youth officials. Give them tips on where to be on the field. Youth officials, ask questions. That is how you will learn to be a better
official. We will periodically be
assessing officials. We can then
determine if you are ready to move up to the next level or if you need more
training.
Please
notify us immediately of any problems or concerns that you have during a
game.
You must notify us at least 72 hours in advance if you are scheduled for a game and would like me to find a replacement. If we get less than 72 hours notice, we will do what we can but you will have to do the game if we can’t find a replacement. If you must cancel the day of a game due to illness, injury or family emergency (these are the only three excuses we will accept), you must call our cell phone. We do have voice mail on our cell phones; leave a message if we don’t answer.

the games you work so you can double-check your paycheck when you get it. Let us know of any problems as soon as
possible.
The past has been very successful because of you referees. You all show a lot of responsibilities by showing up for the games you are assigned. We also think that the quality of the officials in the Centennial Soccer Club is very good. Keep up the good work. If you have any questions or problems, please call me. We want to keep increasing the quality of our program here at Centennial.
Good
Luck and have a great season!!
